2021 provides SMC with a new and exciting opportunity to connect with a school overseas. As part of the CAFOD – Connecting Classrooms programme, supported by the British Council’s Supported Partnership initiative, we are delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with the Saleem Nawaz Fazaia College Masroor in Pakistan.
This school provides education for primary and secondary aged children and was established in 1965. For further information on the school itself, please visit the website using the following link:
By being involved in the Supported Partnerships initiative, SMC hope to develop a long lasting, working relationship with the staff and children at Saleem Nawaz Fazaia. Our primary aim is to give our children the chance to engage with their global neighbours and support them in understanding that, even though we are on opposite sides of the world, we have the same ideals and are all working towards the same global goals. We will work on a project together throughout the year, the main focus of this will be climate change and what we can do to improve this environmental issue. Not only does this link perfectly with our whole school mission embedded in ‘Laudato Si’, it also highlights the fact that climate change is an issue effecting every human on the planet. We are opening that global door for our children and supporting them in realising the issues we face in South Bank, England are faced by the rest of the world and if we all do our little bit, united we can make a big difference.
We look forward to working with our friends in Pakistan and cannot wait to share our learning in the near future.
